Manager

Nick Coomer is a Manager at NewGen, specializing in financial modeling, utility valuation, depreciation studies, and cost of service and rate design analysis. Since joining NewGen in September 2021, Nick has collaborated closely with project managers to develop comprehensive financial models that assist utility clients in forecasting their operating costs, capital expenditures, debt service, and reserve requirements. His models employ industry-standard cost allocation methods to support strategic decision-making and rate setting. Additionally, Nick provides utility billing and revenue analysis to ensure accurate financial projections.

Beyond his financial expertise, Nick conducts detailed depreciation studies to estimate asset service lives, survivor curves, and net salvage rates for utility plant accounts. He has performed numerous valuations and fair market appraisals to facilitate asset acquisitions, dispositions, and service area decertification. Nick's analytical skills enable clients to assess appropriate compensation and determine the value of utility infrastructure and service territories. He is also a Certified Rate of Return Analyst (CRRA) recognized by the Society of Utility and Regulatory Financial Analysts and currently serves as the Treasurer for the American Society of Appraisers' Middle Tennessee Chapter.
